Sarah & Ray's Relaxed Wedding Getting married at St Leonard's Church, Southminster

The day began at St Leonard's Church in Southminster, where Sarah and Ray got to say their I dos before heading off to celebrate with their friends and family.

I always enjoy photographing church weddings because there's no need to manufacture moments. There's a whole ceremony happening in front of you, with people watching, reacting and sharing in something important. My job is to pay attention, anticipate what's happening and capture it without getting in the way.

It's my approach to wedding photography for couples who don't want to spend their wedding day being directed, pulled away from their guests or worrying about how they look in front of a camera. Just genuine moments, lovely people and the freedom to enjoy your day.For me, that's what wedding photography should be about. You shouldn't have to keep thinking about the camera. You should be able to concentrate on what's actually happening.

After the ceremony, it was time to head to The Swallowtail in Burnham-on-Crouch and enjoy the celebrations.

One of the things I loved about Sarah and Ray's wedding was how relaxed the whole day felt. They were lovely people to spend time with, and it was the kind of wedding where the focus was on enjoying the day rather than turning everything into a photoshoot.

That's a big part of why I created The No Posing Club. I wanted an option for couples who still want brilliant photographs of their wedding, but don't want to spend hours being told where to stand, how to hold each other or when to smile.

You can have a wedding full of photographs without spending the whole day having your photograph taken.

Let's be honest, not everyone enjoys having their photo taken.

Some people feel completely comfortable in front of a camera. Others would rather do just about anything else. And if you're someone who feels awkward the moment a photographer points a camera at you, the idea of a traditional wedding photoshoot probably isn't your idea of a good time.

That's where The No Posing Club comes in.

My approach is documentary and unobtrusive. I photograph what's happening around me, from the bigger moments to the little interactions that might otherwise go unnoticed. I don't want to interrupt a good conversation or drag you away from your guests just because I think we need another photograph.

Of course, some couples still want a handful of family group photographs, and that's absolutely fine. If you'd like a few photographs together, we can keep that quick and relaxed too. The point isn't to ban every posed photograph. It's to make sure photography doesn't take over your wedding.

After photographing weddings for years, I've learnt that the best thing I can do for many couples is give them the space to enjoy themselves.

I don't need to direct every moment. I don't need to turn your wedding into a styled shoot. And you definitely don't need to spend your day worrying about whether you're doing things right for the camera.

I'd much rather you remember chatting with your friends, laughing with your family and having a brilliant time with your favourite people.

That's the thinking behind The No Posing Club. It's for couples who want their wedding photographed honestly, without feeling like they're constantly performing for the camera.

Sarah and Ray's wedding was a lovely example of the sort of relaxed atmosphere I enjoy being part of. Two lovely people, their wedding ceremony in Southminster, celebrations in Burnham-on-Crouch, and a day to enjoy with the people around them.

If you're getting married in Essex and the thought of spending hours posing for photographs fills you with dread, The No Posing Club might be right up your street.

It's designed for couples who want to enjoy their wedding rather than organise their day around a photographer. I'll blend in as much as possible, capture the moments as they happen and let you get on with the important bit: actually being there.

You don't need to know how to pose. You don't need to be confident in front of a camera. And you don't need to turn your wedding into a photoshoot to end up with a gallery full of memories.

If that sounds more like your kind of wedding photography, I'd love you to have a look.
